Fomoco / Motorcraft 1V to Weber 34 ICH carburetor conversion kit for Ford Taunus 1600 OHC.
If you own a 1973 - 1979 Ford Taunus 1600 with Overhead Camshaft with an aging FoMoCo / Motorcraft 1V carburetor, then you are probably very well aware of the fact that these carbs are slowly reaching the end of their working life and that refurbishing them is not really an option.
Fuel consumption will go up, power will go down and trying to set the idle speed will become a major challenge.
Luckily, you are not the only one with this problem so the people at Weber set to work and have created this conversion kit.
With this set, the complete carburetor gets replaced with a brand new 34 mm Weber ICH carburetor with manual choke and 27mm venturi.
It includes an air filter adapter so that your original airfilter can be reused and thus largely maintains the "under the hood" appearance.
The kits comprises all required parts to complete this conversion:
- Weber 34 ICH carburetor suitable for the Ford Capri 1600 OHC
- Base Gasket
- Fuel line, filter and clips
- Air filter adapter
- Fitting instruction in English
Please note that the carburetor is jetted specifically for the 1.593cc engine.
That means that his carburetor has the following specification:
- 34 mm throttle valve (fixed)
- 27 mm choke (fixed)
- Main jet size 155 (extra jet is size 160 is included to allow for tuning)
- Idle jet size 50
- Air corrector size 175
- Emulsion tube F6
- Pump jet size 50
- Needle valve 175

Also please note that this carburetor uses a hand / cable-operated choke (or cold start device if you prefer that terminology). Should you car have been equipped with an automatic choke, you might need to install a choke cable.
